Fiat Vehicle History

Fiat is a Trade-mark of machine noted for its sports cars. "FIAT" is an acronym that stands for "Società Anonima Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino" (the Italian Car Workshop in Turin). The colloquy "Fiat" method "a declaration" in Latin.


Beginnings


The Fiat firm was founded in 1889 and opened its antecedent works in 1900, producing 24 models.During the Second World War, car production halted as factories were bombed. After the War, the company began producing cars with heating and ventilation. They also expanded into jet aircraft.

Today

Nowadays Fiat is dedicated to "avant-garde technological solutions at affordable prices." In 2004 their super-compact Panda was named Car of the Year by the Paris Motor Show.




World War I


Prior to and during the First World War, Fiat expanded to the steel, railway, electricity, and public transportation industries. A subsidiary opened up in Russia devoted to supplying the army.


World War II


They gained a name for congenial pursuit cars in the head Machine Tours of Italy competition in 1902.

Early Expansion

In 1908 they expanded to the USA and founded the Fiat Van Co. They also expanded their product borderline to cover commercial vehicles, trucks and marine engines.
