Install New Speaker Wire

4. Connect the other end of the wire to the amplifier or receiver following the same connection pattern of red to positive and the other wire to the negative terminal. Different amp and receiver models use different connection types. Some will have spring clips similar to the speaker connections, while others will use red and black posts that unscrew for the wires to wrap around the metal bolts underneath the posts. Once the wire is wrapped around each bolt, the posts are tightened to secure the connection.
